All month long, Geno's House of Rare Films will be paying tribute to forgotten short comedy studio, Educational Pictures, by spotlighting some never-before-seen material from our vast vaults.
First up is this sensational 1935 two-reeler starring fan favorite and Hal Roach stalwart Billy Gilbert alongside his comedy partner Vince Barnett a short lived teaming under the Magic Lamp. According to classic comedy aficionado Ralph Celentano, this is one of their best and for good reason, it was helmed by iconic film producer Mack Sennett, inventor of the Keystone Kops and the director of the first feature length comedy (TILLIE'S PUNCTURED ROMANCE, 1914).
